You may have noticed that there are a lot of cracks in your driveway. Not only can these cracks be an eyesore, but they can lead to bigger issues for your driveway. But if you’re a pet owner, repairing your driveway comes with an extra challenge: keeping your pets safe.
- Keep Pets Away During Repairs: To protect your pets, you should keep them away from your driveway while you’re making the repairs. You can fence off your driveway to prevent your pet from going in there or when you let your pet outside you monitor them to make sure they don’t go on the driveway.
- Protect Paws From Hot Surfaces: Hot asphalt during the summer can burn your pets paws. To make sure that the surface isn’t hot, you should place your hand on the asphalt. If the asphalt is too hot for your hand, it is too hot for your pet.
- Know What To Do In Case of an Emergency: If something does happen where your pet manages to come in contact with the sealant, it’s important that you take the proper steps to ensure that your pet is safe. You should rinse your pets paws with water and call the vet to see what further steps you should take.
